Michael RothenbergPresident, Founding Partner, and Portfolio Manager
Michael Rothenberg is the founding Partner, President and Portfolio Manager of Moab Capital Partners, LLC. Mr. Rothenberg has spent nearly 20 years as a professional event driven investor with great success. He started Moab in 2006 to build a research intensive world-class firm that could take advantage of dislocations across the event driven space. From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Rothenberg was the senior investment professional at Xerion Capital Partners, LLC, where he was responsible for investing and trading a portfolio of distressed debt, bank debt and event driven equities. From 2002 to 2003, Mr. Rothenberg was the distressed debt Portfolio Manager at Troy Capital Management, LLC. From 2001 to 2002, Mr. Rothenberg was an investment analyst at Gracie Capital Partners, LLC an event driven and distressed debt focused hedge fund. From 1998 to 2001, Mr. Rothenberg was an investment analyst at Perry Capital, LLC, where he focused on distressed debt, event driven equity, and private equity investments. Prior to entering the investment management industry, from 1995 to 1998, Mr. Rothenberg was an investment banking analyst at Peter J. Solomon Company, focusing on mergers and acquisitions.
Over his career, Mr. Rothenberg has been an active investor serving on a public company Board of Directors and numerous official creditor committees. Additionally, Mr. Rothenberg and Moab Partners have lead several direct equity and loan investments in middle market businesses seeking capital.
Mr. Rothenberg earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1995 from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Finance.
Dan Andrews joined Moab Partners in 2016. From 2012 to 2016, Mr. Andrews was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley Credit Partners, where he was responsible for identifying and researching stressed credit opportunities for Morgan Stanley’s merchant banking fund. Previously, Mr. Andrews was an Associate at Miller Buckfire & Co., a restructuring advisory firm and a Senior Associate at MCG Capital Corporation, a middle-market private equity and debt investment firm. Mr. Andrews began his career as an investment banking analyst in the financial sponsors group at Robinson Humphrey from 2004 to 2006.
Mr. Andrews received his Masters in Business Administration in 2011 from Columbia Business School. Mr. Andrews graduated from the University of Virginia in 2004, with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, majoring in Finance.
Jason Power joined Moab Partners in 2014. From 2011 to 2014, Mr. Power was an Investment Associate for Fir Tree Partners where he was responsible for long/short equities, special situations, distressed credit, capital structure and merger arbitrage and activism. Prior to that he spent 3 years at Battery Ventures as an Investment Associate in the Alternative Investments Group and supported the CIO on the Battery Opportunity Fund. Mr. Power also co-managed thematic carve-outs representing a significant portion of the fund’s assets.
Mr. Power earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2008 from Vanderbilt University, majoring in Economics. He also holds the CFA designation.
Dan Scheschuk joined Moab Partners in 2016. From 2012 to 2016, Mr. Scheschuk was a Vice President for the distressed and special situations fund at Twin Haven Capital Partners, where he was responsible for analyzing and recommending investments in bank debt, high yield, mezzanine financing and equity. Previously, Mr. Scheschuk was an Associate at Tiedemann Investment Group, responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities for the $100 million distressed strategy within a $1.5 billion hedge fund firm. Mr. Scheschuk began his career as an investment banking analyst in the equity capital markets group at J.P. Morgan from 2005 to 2008.
Mr. Scheschuk received his Masters in Business Administration in 2010 from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Anderson School of Management. Mr. Scheschuk graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Engineering Science.
Jamie Yackow joined Moab Partners in 2009 after an internship at the firm in 2008. Prior to that, he interned at Jay Goldman & Co.
Mr. Yackow earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2009 from the University of Michigan, majoring in Sociology with a Business concentration.
Chad GoldsteinChief Financial Officer & Chief Compliance Officer
Chad Goldstein joined Moab Partners in 2011. From November 2006 to January 2011, Mr. Goldstein was with DLH Capital Management, LLC, serving as their Chief Financial Officer. From 2003 to 2006, Chad was a Manager and Director for hedge fund administrator BISYS-RK Alternative Investment Services, Inc. Before that, Mr. Goldstein held the position of Controller at Forstmann Asset Management LLC, a long/short equity fund. Mr. Goldstein began his career at Rothstein, Kass & Company, P.C., where he was a Staff Accountant from 1998 to 1999 and a Senior Accountant from 2000 to 2001.
Mr. Goldstein earned a Bachelor of Science in 1998 from Lehigh University, majoring in Accounting. He became a licensed Certified Professional Accountant in New York in 2001.
Andrew StotlandDirector Of Marketing
Andrew Stotland joined Moab Partners in 2009. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2008 Mr. Stotland was co-founder and Director of Business Development at FrontFour Capital Group LLC. From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Stotland was Director of Sales & Marketing for Pirate Capital LLC where he was responsible for the sales and marketing team which raised over $1 billion in assets. Before Pirate, Mr. Stotland held sales positions at SAMCO and Amroc Investments responsible for trading bank debt. During the summer of 1999, Mr. Stotland held a marketing internship at Smith Barney in New York City.
Mr. Stotland earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2000 from Babson College, majoring in Entrepreneurship.
Tasha SharerOperations Associate
Tasha Sharer is an Associate in Operations for the funds and joined in September of 2017. From 2015 to 2017, Ms. Sharer worked as the office manager for the private equity firm Patriarch Partners. Prior to that she was a teacher at the Child & Family Center at Rockefeller University in New York.
Ms. Sharer earned her Bachelor of Arts in General Studies in 2012 from Indiana University.
Omari Ramirez is an analyst and joined Moab Partners in 2017. From 2012 to 2017, Mr. Ramirez was a senior analyst for Water Island Capital where he was responsible for merger arbitrage investments. Prior to that he spent 3 years at Citi Capital Markets in their analyst program.
Mr. Ramirez earned his Bachelor of Arts in Science, Technology and Society in 2009 from the University of Pennsylvania.
